The Lion Foundation Netball Championships finals are being held at the Trusts Stadium 30th Sept - 2 October. With the 12 netball Regions in New Zealand represented the standard of netball will be extremely high. This is an ideal opportunity to the our future Silver Ferns in action in their Provincial colours.

Lion Foundation Netball Championships - Teams named

Congratulations to the following players who have be named in the Auckland Waitakere teams to compete in the Lion Foundation netball Championships

The Auckland Waitakere 1 team are required at training on Monday 2nd Aug, 7pm at Auckland Netball Centre.

Both teams will then also be training on Wed 4th Aug, 7pm Trusts Stadium

New Zealand Age Group Championships Results
 

Auckland Waitakere has had an outstanding couple of weeks at National Age Group tournaments, taking a clean sweep of Under 21, Under 19 & Under 17 national titles.

Further congratulations goes to the following players who were identified and named in the tournament teams

Under 21         Kayla Cullen, Amy Latu, Bailey Mes & Sulu Tone-Fitzpatrick

Under 19         Jamie Johns, Phoenix Karaka, Tuaine Keenan, Rebecca Robinson,Lesley Simone, GenevaTavita & Portia Woodman.

Under 17         Tera-Maria Amani, Jessica Bourke, Aleesha Coulter, Kendra Falefitu, Shanee Edmonds,            Chonaire Huriwai, Phoenix Karaka, Erikana Pedersen & Storm Purvis

On the umpires front - congratulations to Moira Willox who performed well all week and was appointed to the Under 19 final and was also awarded her NZB umpires award. Well done Moira. Also to Tanya McCarthy who was awarded NZ Umpires award during the Under 17 tournament.

Lyn Pellow presented with Netball New Zealand Service Award

Netball Auckland Waitakere Board Chair Lyn Pellow was presented with a Service Award at Netball New Zealands 2010 Annual General Meeting held in Auckland over the weekend. 

The Netball New Zealand Service Award recognises individuals who have made a significant contribution to Netball that has enhanced the game at a local level, regionally, nationally and/or internationally.

There were three other recipients from other netball regions.  Jan Gallop, nominated by Netball Tasman, Linda Liggins, nominated by Netball Manawatu and Ronwyn Wilkins, nominated by Motueka Netball Association.
